"Biodiesel is an alternative fuel to fossil fuel, called petrodiesel. It is a diesel fuel derived frorn various sources" such as plants or animals. Biodiesel is renewable and biodegradable which explains the high interest in order to overcome dependence on petrodiesel. It can be used in pure forrn (Bl 00) or can be blended with petrodiesel "(for example 620: 20% biodiesel, 80% petrodiesel)."
The various possible sources for biodiesel production rnake it a very interesting subject for rnany research "laboratories which are exploring the sources as well as the different production processes. In rnany cases, a Rotavapor® is used to remove solvent under reduced pressure."
Biodiesel production by in situ transesterification of municipal primary and secondary sludges
Bioconversion of organic wastes into biodiesel and animal feed via insect farming
Biodiesel synthesis from swine manure
